phases in christian bibles

modern christian bible-books have many "books" or letters in the book

catholic bibles have more

protestant have less because they took out some of the books from the catholic list

as we count back we can see the phases

catholic today about 40

protestant today about 30

1500 around, selected some and rejected other from catholic

ancient canons have the epistles of paul and even 2 or 3 beyond such as first john in the list.

before that in first clement

he was aware of pauls letters and specificly pauls letter to corinth as well as hebrew which although paraphrasing: "jesus more excellent name" saying "of the immortal knowledge
Who being the brightness of His majesty is so much greater than angels, as He hath inherited a more excellent name."

did not say "written" in contrast to nearby: "1Clem 36:3
For so it is written Who maketh His angels spirits and His
ministers aflame of fire"

for quoting the holy books and other quotes from genesis and psalms so at clements time the canon was only a few books on the list although he had read letters not considered the level of genesis
